It all started on Friday evening. I had just gotten back from a short trip to San Francisco. Coming home from the airport, we went to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. We had been at home for less than an hour and were preparing to go to bed when Kathy's water broke. We looked at each other for a while, trying to figure out what was happening and what we should do. Although we were technically in the safe-zone for delivery, we weren't expecting the special event to take place for a couple more weeks, so we were not prepared at all! However, things were moving slowly, and we had plenty of time to pack our bags and get to the hospital.
At the hopsital, Jacquelyn's delivery needed a bit of help from labor-inducing drugs, but progressed nicely after that. Kathy started getting some severe labor pains towards early morning, but those were thankfully relieved with an epidural. The rest of the labor was very smooth.
Jacquelyn Ann Fox was born this morning (Saturday, Nov 13) at 10:10 AM. She weighed 6 lbs and 15.4 oz, and was 19.5 inches long. Both baby and mother are doing fine.
