An important update on a little golden heart
Alex had his third and hopefully final open-heart (fontan completion) surgery today, Wednesday June 7. The operation began at 8:30 AM and finished up about 2:00PM. He is in the ICU unit at Children's Hospital in Seattle, Washington.
He is doing well. He had a little problem with his blood pressure after surgery, but it wasn't unexpected and is now under control. We are waiting to see how he does as extra fluids in his body start to drain off. With luck, he will spend a week in the ICU area and a few days to a week on the floor. We will have to wait and see what happens in the next few days.
